According to IDC’s Hybrid Work Maturity Study, 45% of business and technology leaders believe that remote and hybrid work models will become a standard part of work practices. Additionally, 93% of these leaders plan to maintain or increase their spending on hybrid work initiatives in 2022.
What are the stages of hybrid work maturity?
The Hybrid Work Maturity Model consists of four stages: 1) Hybrid Work Observer (6.5%) - organizations just starting to explore hybrid work; 2) Hybrid Work Adopter (47.2%) - those beginning to experiment with hybrid models; 3) Hybrid Work Champion (37.8%) - organizations investing in technology for hybrid work; and 4) Hybrid Work Innovator (8.6%) - those seeing success in hybrid work but not yet company-wide.
What factors contribute to successful hybrid work transformation?
The study identifies increased productivity as the top driver of work transformation at 48%, followed by business agility and improved partner and customer engagement (both at 39%), and improved employee engagement at 36%. These factors highlight the importance of a holistic approach to hybrid work that includes technology, policy, culture, and facilities.
